Family Support

We are part of Gade Schools Family Support,  a partnership that works with the local community and other organisations to provide children, their families with a range of services and activities that will help improve children’s achievement, wellbeing and more opportunities to succeed in a wide variety of areas.

By working together we aim to provide a broader range of activities to benefit your child’s opportunity to play, live and learn but also to support families and the wider community as well.

These include:

  • Parent Support Services – Each school has an allocated Family Support Worker who is available to work in school and with parents at home.
  • Pupil Support Services – Our Partnership has Pupil Support Workers who are available to work with groups of children or with children on a one to one basis to support them with their behaviour, emotional wellbeing and how to overcome difficulties they may be facing.
  • SEND Support – Our Partnership has a specialist Family Support Worker who works with families of children with SEND.
  • Specialist Support – We work closely with a wide range of local and national agencies to help families access any form of support they may need.

Family Lives

Family Lives is a charity with over three decades of experience helping parents to deal with the changes that are a constant part of family life. We know that many people play active roles in raising children, from dads and mums, grandparents, stepparents and non-resident parents. Our role is to support all of you to achieve the best relationship possible with the children that you care about, as well as supporting parenting professionals. We believe that happy children come from happy families and currently support families to improve the outcomes for over 1 million children each year.

Dacorum Foodbank

We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

Supporting Links

We are a local Social Enterprise, providing parenting support through courses, workshops and 1:1 mentoring of parents and children throughout Hertfordshire and the surrounding area.

We value the knowledge and experience that every parent brings and we aim to build on those skills to enable parents to feel more confident and positive about their own abilities. We can help you understand your child’s behaviour and develop effective strategies that really work to improve behaviour and communication, and build the foundations for successful family relationships.

Hertfordshire Wellbeing Service

The Wellbeing Service is an Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Service, part of Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. We deliver psychological therapies to those over the age of 16 years, registered with a GP in Hertfordshire

We offer free, confidential talking therapy and practical support for people experiencing a wide range of very common emotional difficulties such as, anxiety, worry, low mood, depression and stress. We also provide support for carers and people who are struggling with the reality of living with long term physical health conditions. Our service can provide help too if you are experiencing anxiety or low mood during or after pregnancy.

Many of the options that we offer are based on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) which is an evidence based psychological therapy. CBT can help make sense of our problems by looking at the way we think, and the way we react to situations. Through our support, you can learn skills and techniques to help manage how you feel, helping you feel better and more in control.
